There is no country like Israel. In the time of JESUS, it was called Palestine, the unique name coined and used by the Romans. Israel is located in the middle of three continents: Asia, Europe and Africa. It was proved that Israel is focal point of the world.and therefore Jerusalem is the center of the world.
Israel is surrounded by countries like Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. The country Israel is a long strip of land [470Km North x 135Km South]. In the north the width is 470 km and when it comes to south , it tapers down to 135km, covering the area of 27817sq.km. The land Israel which was once dry and barren has now become fertile land. The once drought land is receiving 30mm. rainfall per year in the south while it is a drastic 100mm in the north.. Our GOD is a zealous GOD who hears our supplications and answers. HE is a covenant keeping GOD. In Isaiah 41: 17-20 we see GOD'S covenant "
History tells us that Israels lost many battles due to lack of drinking water and they had to surrender to their enemies and finally perish. The Bible as well as the history says that the king Solomon who ruled Israel once was the wisest man on the earth. No human being was given so much of wisdom even before or after him till date. Because he asked GOD to give wisdom to rule the nation, GOD gave riches and wealth too. He built the magnificent temple of GOD in Jerusalem, during 961-922 BC.
Israel's history as recorded in the Bible is a continuing cycle of blessing and punishment for Israel's obedience and disobedience to God's Law. Throughout times of victory and defeat, king and judges, priests and prophets, restoration and exile - the Israelites are blessed when they obey God and disciplined when they do not.
After Solomon 's death, his son Rehab-am ruled the Israel. Later on a time came when king Jehoiakim ruled the land of Israel. He was disobedient and did evil in the sight of GOD. Therefore GOD left the nation and handed them over to their enemies. Thence forth the people of Israel were exiled from their nation many times. But in their exile, when they cried out to GOD with all lowliness, HIS heart melted and restored them to their land. Surely HE is a loving and righteous FATHER. HE is our merciful GOD. In Bible we read that HIS anger lasts only for a moment but HIS mercy lasts forever. I ,a heathen, am able to experience HIS love, compassion, mercies, blessings and the most precious salvation only because of HIS loving kindness. May you and your loved ones experience the same.
